In short: msg Lense opens and reads your email files entirely on your device. We have no servers, no user accounts, and no analytics. We do not collect, see, upload, or sell your emails or personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how credeo GmbH (“we,” “us,” or “credeo”) handles information in connection with the msg Lense application (the “App”) for iPhone and iPad. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we do not collect

The App is designed to work without collecting personal data. Specifically, we do not:

  • require you to create an account or sign in;
  • upload, transmit, or store your email files or their contents on any server we control;
  • use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs;
  • collect your name, email address, contacts, or location.

2. How your files are processed

When you open a .msg or .eml file, msg Lense parses and displays it locally on your device. Messages you open, along with their attachments, may be cached in the App’s private on-device storage so you can view them again. This data:

  • stays on your device (and in your own iCloud/device backups, if you have those enabled);
  • is never sent to us; and
  • can be removed at any time by deleting items in the App or removing the App.

3. Subscriptions and purchases

msg Lense offers auto-renewing subscriptions. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using your Apple Account. We never receive or store your payment card details. To validate your subscription, the App communicates with Apple’s StoreKit service on your device. Apple may provide us with aggregated, non-identifying sales and subscription statistics. Apple’s handling of your information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

4. Opening files in other apps

If you choose to reply to, forward, or share a message, msg Lense hands the content to another app you select (for example Apple Mail, Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, or Spark) using standard iOS/iPadOS sharing. Once content leaves msg Lense for another app, it is governed by that app’s privacy policy. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for third-party apps you choose to use.

5. Children’s privacy

msg Lense is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Your rights

Because we do not collect or hold your personal data on our systems, there is no account data for us to access, correct, or delete. All content handled by the App resides on your device and is under your control. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights regarding personal data; you can contact us with any questions using the details below.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at this address. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
